EarthBound

: For some reason, I find it really easy to spend time writing about EarthBound.

The Dark Side: I wanted to call this 'The Dark side of the Earth (Bound)', as a pun on that album 'the Dark side of the moon', but the title was way too long. This is basically a list of stuff that may be considered 'inappropriate for kids'. Parents, if you don't your kids exposed to blue-obsessed cults, the IRS, and weird fan-made conspiracy theories, stay away from this game (but play it yourself first to find out if it's really that bad).

Culture Refs: References to Popular Culture found in the game are listed here. These are ones I could find. There are some that I haven't been able to verify personally or doubt, so they're... not here. I think this is pretty good, though, and as I find more, they get added to this list. Wh-hoo!

NoA and Mother: This is it. This is the monster of an essay that I spent two days writing (I actually just wrote it during the first class in school a year ago and then added some stuff copying it to the computer, but whatever). It's really long and it's more like a rant against crazy fans that seem to think NoA is some sort of evil group of people who take pleasure in not releasing other Mother games and then find virgin EarthBound fans, torture them, and bathe in their blood (real EarthBound fans draw parallels between Nintendo officials and famous Hungarian countesses). All sarcasm aside, I spent a good while on this essay. I try to refute some things like "EarthBound actually sold really well", "no effort was put into the advertisement for this game", and "Nintendo made the advertisement sucky so that the game would purposely fail". Yes, some people honestly believe that last statement.

Music Quiz: I love music quizzes. All you need is some music, the ability to have the next song be random, and you're ready to answer some of the most debated things in the EarthBound world. You can see my results and how to do the Music Quiz at that page.

Challenges: Real EarthBound fans play without buying any items (as opposed to Super Smash Bros, where Nate Bildof believes real men use items, but seriously, who cares about a guy like him?). If you want to make your run of EarthBound a little different, take a look here.
